Litho printing
At the intersection of our embossing-debossing, foiling and silkscreen-printing workshops, our litho printing workshop is like an open-air tunnel where your prints finally emerge into the light of day.
This planographic printing technique is descended from lithography. At the Imprimerie, we keep pushing the boundaries of its possibilities a little further, perfecting our approaches day after day in the course of your projects. With this in mind, we decided to supplement our fleet of machines with a recent Heidelberg model capable of printing five colours and handling UV inks.
As worthy heirs of letterpress printing, our litho machine operators are excellent colourists. What is more, since April 2023, they have found in our photo-proofer an exceptional ally in colour profile calibration and in the perfect reproduction of those bringing your printed creations to life.
Added to our four-colour print quality is our spot colour printing ability: that is, our ability to take advantage of bespoke chromatic ranges, which our artisans create from their Pantone colour-charts, taking account of the characteristics of the chosen print medium.
The UV drying system perfects the colorimetric treatment of projects that pass under our litho presses. Through this technology, the inks are polymerised, thus producing a matchless rendering and adherence, which even enable us to print in white and/or on mediums like tracing paper and transparent film. Moreover, similarly to silkscreen printing, litho printing allows the inking density to be varied by multiplying the “passes” if necessary. In this sense, it offers the possibility of producing the metallic finishes of the Pantone ranges.
Because we particularly love inspiring adventurous spirits, we are quite willing to shift into an experimental mindset. We are no strangers to either printing a four-colour image on a plain foiled surface or composing a colour gradient, or even playing with shifting effects and deliberate moiré. These are just some examples of how we have gone outside of boundaries to take creative journeys. Through this wide range of finishes, your prints get magnified.
"Litho printing is a science determined by multiple variables that our craftspeople control in order to ink all of the beauty and singularity of your ideas onto paper."
